The Covent Garden Area

By Dean Johnson

Property owners, investors, and renters looking for a good quality location at a good price would do well to consider the Covent Garden located in London. This area is close enough to the trendy Mayfair area and the theatre district in the West End of London. Renters can rest assured that they will not have to pay the higher prices afforded to residents of Mayfair as Covent Garden rental property values are akin to that of Soho. There are many properties available so renters will have a decent selection to choice for their property, living condition, and rental, permanent or temporary residence. They will also enjoy the cultural aspects of the area such as the opera and the convenience of the market.

Seven Dials is not just a shoppers delight within the Covent Garden district of London, it is a thriving sub district that is easily assessable by taxi, tube, plane, and train. Tourists and residents enjoy the trendy shops and night life afforded the area. Business owners reap the benefits of having a location which will generate healthy revenue yearly. The area is flooded with millions of tourists each year. Properties and flats are still available for the city dweller or entrepreneur.

Seven Dials is a road conjunction where seven roads converge. At the center of the road conjunction is the Seven Dials sundial pillar. The pillar has six sundials to commemorate what was believed to be the first street plans for the district. It was believed that only six roads were to be included in the original village plan and therefore the reason for the six faces on the dial. The original monument stood at the base of the converging streets, but was taken down and relocated to Weybridge to honour the daughter of King Frederick William II of Prussia.

Even though the Seven Dials referred to the actual central hub of the road junction, it is understood to mean the surroundings too. The rentals and properties for sale in the vicinity run from Shaftesbury Avenue to Shelton Street from north to south and east to west from Endell Street to West Street. The seven street radius is very small and an individual can walk it in few minutes. Therefore, as you can imagine, the space for offices and other establishments are greatly sought after.

This shopping village boasts several top-notch eateries, bars and elegant boutiques. The area is a major income source for retailers. Though business people may not shop during business hours they can sell their wares to millions of visitors each year.

On the other hand, businesspeople can entertain their clients in style with quality food and entertainment. There are many well-known restaurants in the area, including French eateries. A night at Theatreland in London's vibrant west end is sure to please your guests or clients. Clients visiting from overseas will love the British flare and local atmosphere of Seven Dials. The area is bulging over with attitude!

The Seven Dials locale is easily assessable by all transport services. Clients are not obliged to spend extra money on taxis if they would rather take the scenic bus route. They can also choose the train and the tube, or the express service from Heathrow Airport.

Clients are in for a great surprise when they come in time for Queen Elizabeth's diamond jubilee. Everyone from ice cream vendors to grand hotels will be offering their specialties for the occasion. Special entertainment has been planned for this historic occasion as well.
